We Are Excited To Welcome This Season's Barbarians Head Coaches:

About Coach Stohr: "Isaac Stohr has been coaching youth hockey in Lansing since 2014. His experience includes several years with LHC, coaching Tier 2 & 3 from Squirt to Midget, until he moved to high school hockey where he served 3 seasons as assistant coach for the Eastside Stars. Prior to coaching, Isaac played youth hockey locally with GLAHA, as well as Dewitt High School, Culver Military Academy and Lansing Capitals (Tier 2 Juniors). In addition to hockey, Isaac has coached baseball for several years and is currently assistant varsity baseball coach at Eaton Rapids High School. While focusing on skill development, game awareness and team unity, Coach Stohr has been fortunate enough to have coached several players that have continued their athletic careers at the juniors and collegiate level."

About Coach Theuerkorn: "I started coaching in 2009 with the GLAHA Squirt B program as an assistant, and then as a head coach the next two seasons. I was head coach of the Lansing Senators PeeWee AA and Bantam A teams from 2012-2014, and then in 2014 took over as head coach for the Eastside Stars varsity program for the next two seasons. I stepped away from coaching after my son was born, but was excited to return to help as a coach for the LHC mini-mite and mite teams. I grew up as a player in the GLAHA program, playing for both house and travel teams. I am married with two kids, and I work as an executive in the insurance industry. What I love most about coaching is being a positive influence in the lives of young hockey players, and sharing my passion for the game of hockey with both the players and the families. I take pride in having a role in the development of young players, and instilling my passion for the game onto the kids so they can continue to enjoy the sport for years to come."

About Coach Leiby: "Jay Leiby grew up in Lansing and has been part of the local hockey community since he was 6. He has several years of experience coaching both hockey and soccer, and is excited to lead one of our 12U teams this year. His favorite part of coaching is seeing how the kids grow throughout a season and come together as a team."

About Coach Young: "My name is Jason Young, and I'm excited to be the head coach of the 12U Biggby Barbarians this season. My hockey journey began growing up in Alpena, Michigan, where I played youth hockey and developed a lifelong passion for the game. My coaching journey started in 2021 when my son discovered his love for hockey, and since then I've had the opportunity to spend several seasons behind the bench helping young players develop both on and off the ice.My wife, son, and I moved to DeWitt in the fall of 2024 and quickly became part of the Lansing Hockey Club family. Over the past two seasons, I served as an assistant coach with the 10U Senators while continuing to stay involved in the game by playing in the local adult hockey league. In addition to coaching and playing, I bring more than 15 years of experience as a USA Hockey and MHSAA official, working youth, high school, and adult hockey. Seeing the game from multiple perspectives has shaped my approach to coaching and has reinforced what I enjoy most— being on the ice with kids, helping them improve their skills, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the game.My mission as a coach is simple: to create a positive, competitive environment where players can grow both as hockey players and as teammates. I believe in teaching the fundamentals while emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, accountability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. Most importantly, I want every player to have fun, enjoy coming to the rink, and make lasting memories with their teammates. When I'm not at the rink, you'll usually find me spending time with my family and friends, heading up north, hunting, fishing, golfing, or cheering on my son at the baseball field.I'm looking forward to an exciting season and can't wait to get to work!"

About Coach Kirkendall: "Hi, I'm Jeff Kirkendall and I'll be coaching the 14U Biggby Barbarians this season. This will be my second year coaching and I'm very excited about the upcoming season. I grew up playing basically my whole life, all the way up through high school and one year of D3 at Western Michigan. I love the game and have developed a passion in teaching the next generation to do the same.
When I'm not at the rink I enjoy golf, pickleball and spending time with my friends and family."
